Job Summary: Serves as the Assistant to the NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) General Manager (GM) NF5, ensuring operations are efficient, profitable, and within established guidelines and standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the GM in managing a Department of Defense (DoD) lodging operation, providing services and amenities comparable to a mid-grade hotel for guests in TDY, PCS, or leisure status.
  • Perform supervisory duties, overseeing staffing and operations.
  • Delegate authority and assign responsibilities to department heads/supervisors under the GM's direction; report deficiencies and assume GM duties in their absence.
  • Maintain knowledge of Property Management System (PMS), financial systems, and Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Use the Enterprise Inventory Management System (CORE-HMS) to verify and modify room inventories across sales channels to maximize utilization and revenue.
  • Process reservations via local systems, CRS, and PMS.
  • Engage with guests to ensure satisfaction and address inquiries and concerns.
  • Manage guest services and resources at the installation level.
  • Conduct inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and grounds; identify and address deficiencies.
  • Develop local procedures for housekeeping, maintenance, and facility management; recommend operational updates.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure service levels and establish vendor relations.
  • Participate in the Manager on Duty program.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance with maintenance personnel.
  • Work with the Contracting department on service requirements and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure all staff complete required compliance training.
  • Maintain safety, fire, and sanitation standards; ensure guest and staff safety and privacy.
  • Support EEO policies and communicate them to staff.
  • Maintain operations during emergencies or inclement weather.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The position requires filing a Financial Disclosure Report OGE Form 450.

Experience Requirements:

  • General Experience: At least 3 years in administrative, technical, or responsible work demonstrating knowledge of operational practices, interpersonal skills, and mature judgment.
  • Educational Substitution: 1 year of college above high school may substitute for 9 months of experience; up to 4 years of college can substitute for 3 years of experience.
  • Specialized Experience: 2 years in hotel/motel or institutional management, including procurement, operational efficiency, sanitation, financial controls, budgeting, staffing, and design.

Federal retail management experience may substitute for hospitality experience.
