Job Summary:

The onsite Patient Access Registration Rep II handles patient registration and scheduling for hospital and physician services. Flexibility to learn complex hospital systems and communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and physician offices is essential. The role involves ensuring complete and accurate information collection, interacting with patients, payers, providers, and clients according to guidelines, and contributing to process improvements and reporting.

This position requires working a schedule that supports a 24/7 operation and making compliant decisions regarding HIPAA and FCC regulations independently.

Note: This is a 100% onsite position in Kona, Hawaii (local candidates only).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Access Registration Tasks:

  • Complete patient registration, including post-clinical triage, verifying health plan coverage
  • Accurately document patient demographics and insurance information
  • Support insurance verification and authorization functions
  • Follow up with patients, physician offices, and payers regarding eligibility and authorizations
  • Schedule patients for services as per department guidelines

Physical Demands:

Reasonable accommodations can be provided. Regular use of eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required for operating office equipment. Work involves prolonged computer use and handling interruptions. Occasionally, lifting up to 20 lbs may be necessary. Stress levels may increase during busy periods with multiple deadlines.
