Alpha Inc. is seeking a strategic, hands-onHRBP- Directorto serve as the right hand to the Chief People Officer during a pivotal period of transformation. As we transition from a PEO to a fully in-house HR infrastructure, this leader will drive the buildout of scalable HR systems, programs, and practices that fuel business growth and a high-performance culture.

What You'll Do

HR Strategy & Workforce Planning

  • Reports directly to the Chief People Officer and serves as the acting head of HR in the CPO's absence
  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support business growth and workforce expansion.
  • Partner with leadership and department heads to align HR initiatives with business goals.
  • Lead organizational design efforts, ensuring the structure, policies, and practices support company growth.
  • Design and implement HR programs and policies that foster an engaging and high-performance culture.

Learning & Development (L&D)

  • Oversee the development and execution of company-wide training and leadership development programs.
  • Establish career development pathways and upskilling initiatives for employees at all levels.
  • Implement and oversee onboarding, technical skills training, and leadership development programs.
  • Ensure that managers receive training and coaching on leadership, performance management, and team development.
  • Partner with department leaders to identify skills gaps and training needs, ensuring employees are equipped to succeed.
  • Utilize HR technology and LMS systems to track learning outcomes and optimize training programs.

Talent Acquisition

  • Oversee recruitment strategy, workforce planning, and hiring processes to support rapid growth.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop structured, scalable hiring frameworks that align with business needs.
  • Ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) hiring practices are embedded into all recruitment efforts.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team to enhance employer branding and improve candidate experience.

HR Operations, HRIS & Compliance

  • Lead the transition from a PEO to an in-house HR infrastructure, ensuring compliance with federal and Hawaii labor laws.
  • Oversee HRIS implementation and optimization, ensuring efficiency and automation in HR processes.
  • Manage HR analytics and reporting, providing leadership with data-driven insights to guide workforce strategy.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Lead employee relations, conflict resolution, and HR compliance initiatives to ensure a fair and positive work environment.
  • Develop policies and best practices that support employee well-being, engagement, and workplace culture.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms (surveys, focus groups, etc.) to continuously improve employee experience.
  • Act as a trusted HR Business Partner (HRBP) to leadership and employees, providing coaching and guidance on team dynamics and HR best practices.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Oversee the development and administration of competitive compensation programs, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Partner with finance and leadership to create salary structures, incentive programs, and bonus plans aligned with business goals.
  • Implement and manage total rewards strategies, including benefits, performance-based incentives, and retention programs.
  • Conduct compensation benchmarking and pay equity analyses, ensuring fairness and compliance with wage laws and industry standards.
  • Develop communication strategies to ensure employees understand their total compensation and benefits offerings.

HR Team Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Serve as the #2 to the CPO, leading and mentoring the HR team as Alpha Inc. scales.
  • Manage direct reports across L&D, Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Employee Relations, and Compensation, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Foster a high-performance HR team by setting clear goals, metrics, coaching team members, and driving accountability.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Leadership to align HR with business priorities.

About You

  • 8+ years of HR experience, with a strong track record of scaling HR functions in fast-growing organizations.
  • You have grit, resilience, and roll-up-your-sleeves attitude – you thrive in fast-past environments and are ready to tackle challenges head-on.
  • Experience in HR business partnership, HR operations, compliance, and workforce planning.
  • Proven ability to balance strategy and execution, with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong experience in HRIS, payroll, benefits, and compensation administration.
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner cross-functionally.
  • Experience in construction, field-based industries, or similar environments is a plus but not required.
