Position Status: Full Time

Position Title: Construction Surveillance Technician II

Location: Honolulu, HI

Security Clearance Level: Interim Secret clearance to start, with the ability to obtain up to TS/SCI with Counterintelligence polygraph.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Air Force (AF) Special Access Program (SAP) Security Support Services (SSS) assist the AF security authority in overseeing national security objectives supporting AF SAP interests through active security operations, processes, mechanisms, and management. This includes multi-disciplinary security support, specialized analytical/program protection, and responsiveness to dynamic SAP security situations.

The Construction Surveillance Technician's primary role is to provide daily security support for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) & Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) construction. Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing, identifying, and recommending improvements to policies, procedures, or systems.
  • Identifying threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.
  • Managing escort personnel, logging activities, training staff, briefing security duties, and reporting incidents.
  • Enforcing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Conducting inspections of materials used in secure space construction.
  • Photographing and monitoring construction progress to support accreditation.
  • Providing leadership and oversight to team members.

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of related experience, or 7-9 years of experience without a degree.
  • Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) counts towards 3 years of experience.
  • Special Program Security Certification (SPSC) counts towards 5 years of experience.
  • Maximum equivalent experience for SPED Certifications is 5 years.
  • Completion of DoD SAPCO-approved SAPNP training if performing personnel security functions.
  • Desired: Knowledge of ICD 705 and compliance with physical and technical security requirements for SCIFs.
  • Completion of safety training (e.g., OSHA 10, Fall Protection, Confined Space) within 30 days of hire.
  • Obtain CDSE STEPP ICD 705 Physical Security Construction Requirements for SAP course within 30 days of hire.
