Salary

  • $5,918 to $8,422 per month (SR-24, Step D to M)
  • $6,399 to $9,109 per month (SR-26, Step D to M)
  • $7,198 to $10,247 per month (SR-28, Step D to M)

Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.

Position Overview

This position leads the System Networking staff and is responsible for managing and operating all infrastructure and hardware in the Department. The team also provides user administration and support (help desk) to enable Department staff to utilize technical equipment and systems.

Positions at this level spend most of their time supervising subordinate professionals at the Entry and/or Journeyworker Band level, including planning, directing work, assigning and reviewing tasks, advising on complex issues, scheduling, providing technical guidance, staff training, and other supervisory responsibilities.

Specialty Area: Network Administrator

Responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing local and wide area network solutions across multiple platforms, providing ongoing technical support, troubleshooting network issues, and developing policies and standards to ensure security.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet all of the following:

  • Legal Authorization to Work: Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible for unrestricted employment under federal law.
  • General Experience/Education: Four years of responsible work experience or a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination.
  • Specialized Experience: Four to six years of professional IT experience in network administration, including at least one year at the Journeyworker level or equivalent training and experience.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate competencies in customer focus, initiative, communication, decision making, problem solving, technical skills, supervisory skills, and more. Supervisory aptitude or experience is also required or preferred.
