Position Information

Performs difficult professional engineering work in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems, and/or in the review and analysis of plans and specifications for mechanical engineering features and compliance with code requirements; and performs other related duties as required.

There is one (1) vacancy with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Capital Projects Construction Branch.

There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Transportation Services, Transportation Rail Division.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At the time of application, you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

Education Requirement

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. A foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

Please attach an electronic copy of your diploma and/or official transcript which shows the embossed seal or applicable FCE to your application. Experience Requirement

Three years of non-registered professional mechanical engineering experience.

License Requirement

• Possession of a valid license as a professional mechanical engineer in the State of Hawaii.

Applicants with an out-of-state license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.
