This position leads the System Networking staff, managing and operating all infrastructure and hardware in the Department. It includes providing user administration and support (help desk) to enable staff to utilize technical equipment and systems.
Positions at this level spend most of their time supervising subordinate professionals, including planning, directing, reviewing work, advising on complex issues, scheduling, and staff training.
Network Administrator: Responsible for designing, configuring, and implementing local and wide area network solutions across multiple platforms, supporting remote networks, Internet, and EDI communications. Requires thorough knowledge of multi-protocol systems and extensive experience with multi-vendor network systems. Also responsible for troubleshooting network issues, developing policies, and ensuring security compliance.

General Experience/Education: Four years of responsible work experience, or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Specialized Experience: Four to six years of professional IT experience in the Network Administrator specialty, including at least one year at the Journey worker Band level or equivalent.
Additional Requirements: Demonstration of supervisory aptitude or experience, including planning, organizing, and evaluating staff, is required. Candidates must also possess key competencies such as customer focus, initiative, communication skills, problem-solving, and technical expertise.
