The current vacancy is located at the Waiawa Correctional Facility in Waipahu, Oahu.

Salary

$5,918 - $7,198 per month (SR-24, Step D to I). Salary depends on funds, qualifications, and other factors.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team assessing, developing, and implementing treatment plans for substance use issues.
• Conduct educational, treatment, and therapeutic classes.
• Develop, evaluate, and modify program policies, treatment approaches, and curricula.
• Supervise all activities of an operational unit related to substance abuse treatment programs.
• Provide full technical and administrative supervision over lower-level specialists.
• Supervise substance abuse treatment services for inmates in residential programs.
• Supervise at least one intern/practicum student from the Leeward Community College program.

Minimum Qualifications

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 3.5 years of professional experience in assessing individuals, developing treatment plans, and providing counseling and education in substance abuse programs.
• State of Hawaii Substance Abuse Counselor Certification (or reciprocity from a recognized jurisdiction).
• Valid driver's license.
• Supervisory aptitude or potential.
• Other requirements include compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA).
