SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Multisystemic Therapy (MST) Therapist provides services for individuals and their families in the home, school, and community that are designed to: ensure safety and stability of the child and family to promote successful functioning in home, school, and community; avert treatment in a residential or inpatient setting; facilitate an earlier return of individuals to the home environment who receive inpatient or residential care; strengthen family functioning; and assist students in achieving optimal benefits from their education.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
Multisystemic Therapy Therapists
Hawaii licensed, graduate level mental health professional and minimum of one (1) year supervised training in the provision of child and adolescent mental health services; or
Advanced level professional degree in related human service field and minimum of two (2) years supervised training in the provision of child and adolescent mental health services; or
Advanced level professional degree in related human service field and minimum of one (1) year experience in provision of child and adolescent mental health services and currently working under supervision of personnel meeting criteria 1) and 2) or
Bachelor's degree in human services with (5) years experience with troubled youth and families.
