The Department of Enterprise Services is looking for a Groundskeeping Supervisor Ito supervise personnel engaged in construction and maintenance in the upkeep of the golf course, train subordinates in maintenance operations, and assist the Golf Course Superintendent in developing, implementing maintenance guidelines and procedures and training programs for maintenance personnel in fungicide, insecticide and herbicide techniques.

As a Groundskeeper Supervisor I, your duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Planning, scheduling, assigning, and reviewing the work of the Grounds Maintenance personnel.
  • Inspecting golf course to identify work needed and assigns personnel to attend to special and immediate requirements.
  • Supervising and training in the preventative maintenance, lubrication and minor repair of all equipment used on the course.
  • Supervising and training personnel in the safe and efficient performance of turf maintenance duties. Includes the proper use of:
    • Tractors, mowers, and other turf maintenance equipment used to maintain greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers and surrounds,
    • Fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides and other horticultural chemicals used on the golf course.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

Special Work Requirements: Required to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Will serve as a Disaster Response worker during declared emergencies.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the care and maintenance of grounds and landscaped areas.
Desirable Experience:Previous experience in supervising the work of others (e.g., planning, assigning, scheduling, and overseeing the work of subordinates; training subordinates on proper work practices and procedures; etc.).

LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a valid driver's license (automobile/Type 3), prior to appointment.
