The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Technical Manager to join the Walbridge team. In this role, you will act as the technical expert for a specific discipline to ensure all related construction activities are performed in accordance with accepted professional standards. You will work to solve complex technical field-related problems, manage the equipment startup, and oversee the commissioning process (V-Start). You'll assist in implementing the project's 4-phase quality control plan and monitor the field construction of mechanical and/or electrical subcontractors for schedule management and conformance to contract documents.

Location

You can live in any US city if you are able to travel 100%.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities

  • Develop critical path schedule: Develop MEP critical path schedule, coordinate with subcontractors and the design team to resolve conflicts.
  • Procurement & bid process: Manage equipment procurement, track and coordinate deliveries, assist with bidding mechanical and electrical trades.
  • CX and Startup: Manage startup and pretesting of mechanical and electrical systems, coordinate and document quality control and third-party commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate Trades & Documentation: Track critical path construction, review mechanical and electrical submittals.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must have:

  • A 4-year engineering degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience related to electrical/mechanical discipline, with thorough knowledge of construction technology, equipment, materials, and methods.
  • Ability to lead and schedule MEP activities.
  • Preconstruction and equipment procurement experience preferred.
  • Willingness to accept project assignments that may require extended living arrangements or frequent travel.
  • A valid US driver's license and passport; willingness to travel at 70+%.
