Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide environmental engineering support related to the Clean Air Act (CAA).
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct environmental compliance surveys and audits to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
• Perform detailed facility compliance evaluations, including supporting Navy Region Hawaii's installations with regulatory inspections and project EV evaluations.
• Review military construction and special projects during planning, design, and construction phases, providing environmental compliance comments and recommendations.
• Prepare and review official correspondence, reports, plans, permit applications, and other documentation, coordinating with government personnel.
• Participate in regulatory inspections, noting findings and tracking corrective actions.
• Monitor new environmental requirements, assess their impact, and recommend necessary program modifications.

Minimum Requirements:

• Knowledge of major environmental laws and regulations, such as CAA, NPDES, EPCRA, EMS, SPCC, FRP, NEPA, and related legislations.
• Familiarity with Hawaii's air quality laws and regulations, including Hawaii Revised Statutes Title 19 Chapter 342B and Hawaii Administrative Rules Title 11-60.1.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Common Access Card (CAC), requiring a background check including FBI fingerprint clearance and a tier 3 investigation (SF-86).
