Project Engineer

BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, serving both the Federal and Industrial sectors across the United States. Our team provides Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering, and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private clients.

Position Summary

BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team, supporting the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) onsite at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, HI. The role involves working on both classified and unclassified networks for the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Advise Site Security Manager on construction areas requiring higher security measures
  • Perform design and construction management tasks
  • Collaborate with senior engineering professionals from multiple disciplines
  • Work with codes, standards, and requirements for the renovation of historic facilities, SOSA, and SCIFs

Key Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret Security Clearance and TS/SCI clearance are required
  • Professional Engineering license (PE) in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is required
  • Knowledge and Experience:
    1. Extensive experience with SOSA and SCIF codes, standards, and requirements
    2. Experience supporting creation and technical expertise in non-advisory and assistance contracts for the Air Force or DoD
    3. Experience as a site security manager and developing construction security plans
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Software proficiency: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently

Experience & Education

  • Experience: 3-5 years in engineering design and construction management, including at least 3 years supporting Air Force MAJCOM or similar programs, directly involved in planning and programming activities
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited Engineering college

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, and remain stationary for at least 60% of the time
  • Ability to operate office equipment including computers, copiers, and phones
  • Light lifting under 10 lbs.
