A Work Program Coordinator provides technical and administrative assistance in planning, developing and coordinating maintenance and repair services programs for all facilities, appurtenant structures, grounds and equipment under the jurisdiction of a major City department; may provide technical and administrative assistance in planning, developing and coordinating new construction projects; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy Information:
There is one (1) vacancy with the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), Support Services Bureau, located in Honolulu. This position has the responsibility of managing the facilities of the HPD Headquarters at Alapai, as well as all other police facilities. Responsible for prioritizing, budgeting for, and processing all requests for repairs, renovations, and maintenance contracts for these facilities, then coordinating the work to be done with the City and County of Honolulu's Department of Facility Maintenance or with private contractors. The ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and contracts and a technical understanding of the operations of security systems, cabling systems, mechanical, electrical and electronic facility components, are factors that enable the building manager to plan, monitor and inspect the repair, maintenance and renovation of police facilities. May be required to work on weekends, evening hours and holidays.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with major work in business administration, public administration, civil or structural engineering, or a related field.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Three (3) years of professional financial or program analysis, estimating or purchasing experience, one of which shall have involved building construction and maintenance activities.
LICENSE REQUIREMENT:
Possession of a valid appropriate driver's license (automobile/Type 3), prior to appointment.
