The Department of Environmental Services (ENV),
Refuse Collection and Disposal Division, is hiring a Safety Specialist I. Located in Kapolei, this position assists the Administrative Specialist III in managing the division's safety program, which includes preparing and conducting training, preparing statistics and reports, inspecting operations and facilities, enforcing safety practices and requirements, and investigating injuries and accidents. You will be responsible for performing all duties safely and appropriately to ensure the safety of yourself, co-workers, and the public.

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field. One year of professional (post-bachelor's degree, non-clerical) experience in industrial safety and accident prevention activities, demonstrating knowledge of safety laws, hazards, safety devices, inspection principles, and safety education. Must also demonstrate the ability to make safety inspections, interpret laws, investigate accidents, and conduct safety training.
Possession of a valid driver's license (Type 3) prior to appointment.
