• III Level: $4,858 to $5,918 per month (SR-20, Step D to I).
• IV Level: $5,258 to $6,399 per month (SR-22, Step D to I).

Duties Summary

Auditors examine accounts to render opinions on the financial position and operations of governmental agencies, individuals, and business entities. The work involves sound accounting judgment and adherence to auditing standards and principles.

Auditor level III

Performs moderately difficult professional auditing, assists higher-level auditors, and performs other duties as assigned.

Auditor level IV

Conducts difficult field audits independently, may supervise lower-level auditors, and performs related duties.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

Applicants will be placed on the eligible list for all levels they qualify for. To qualify, you must meet:

• Legal Authorization To Work: Be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law.
• Basic Education: Bachelor's degree with at least 12 semester hours in accounting and/or auditing.
• Specialized Experience: Two years for Level III, three years for Level IV of professional auditing experience.
• Driver's License: Some vacancies require a valid driver's license.
• Special Requirement: For the Department of Transportation, Airports Division, a federal criminal history check is required.
