The Honolulu Board of Water Supply is looking for a Geographic Information System Analyst II to help design and produce routine thematic map projects and applications, research and analyze a variety of data sources, and update the water infrastructure in the GIS database.

Responsibilities

• Participating in the maintenance and quality control of the GIS database, which includes researching, reviewing, analyzing, interpreting, and preparing data from as-built construction drawings, field sketches, reports, and other documents for entry into the GIS database.
• Supporting BWS users and programs needed in a variety of geospatial analyses, maps, projects, and applications.
• Designing and producing routine multi-layered maps, illustrations, and apps using GIS software to support GIS cartographic services for the Department.
• Assisting senior GIS Analysts with GIS user support, outreach, and data maintenance and quality control.
• Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with major work in physical or natural science, geography, engineering, planning, computer science or a related field.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

Substitution: Work experience may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis. Such experience must have provided the knowledge, skills, and analytical ability normally gained from attainment of a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Six months of experience using GIS software in the design and production of thematic maps and other applications.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT

Possession of an appropriate valid Hawaii State driver's license, as required.
