What you'll do as a MXU Engineer
Design ISP path drawings for deployment of fiber optic facilities feeding MDU/MTU Buildings. Designs may include outside underground design details as well as fiber placement on existing utility pole lines.
Evaluate field notes provided by a Field Engineer. Review all aspects of aerial plant including span lengths, anchoring, guying, and attachment heights to make sure they meet local standards. Review all underground plant new and existing to ensure that it meets the standards to place fiber optic equipment.
Solve complex MXU OSP/ISP Engineering problems with innovative solutions and select the most effective design to manage the resulting work order through to completion.
Work as part of a multi-faceted team consisting of engineering, construction, project management, and scheduling personnel, all with a common interest of delivering results to the customer.
Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations and policies.

What you'll need
To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
At least two years related experience and/or training
Effective communication skills
Detail oriented, well organized, and effective in multi-tasking
Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Detailed knowledge of construction work print interpretation and municipal permit application review.
Strong Computer Skills (Databases, Processes, and Administrative) and ability to CAD - Comprehensive knowledge and skill for more complex applications to include Word, Excel, Visio, AutoCAD, Microstation, ArcGIS/ESRI, ,ICGS, 3GIS, Google Earth.
Knowledge of Verizon network plant and local practices.
Working knowledge of right-of-way, property rights, and permit acquisition.
