Overview

We're recruiting for a Senior Environmental Geologist/Hydrogeologist to support our client's Environmental Services line of business, providing technical services to ensure that all environmental service goals are attained.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of duties involving the execution, management, coordination, monitoring and oversight of environmental projects.
  • Plan, manage, and conduct environmental assessments, investigations, designs, remediations, and long-term management and maintenance of hazardous waste and military munitions sites.
  • Conduct project and contract management of environmental projects, including complying with scopes of work, developing and managing project schedules, and performing financial management such as preparing invoices, monthly/periodic status reports, and preparing cost estimates for environmental projects.
  • Prepare technical reports, conduct and oversee quality control reviews of technical documents, design and implementation of investigations and remedial/removal actions, field sampling and field procedures of soil, soil vapor, drinking water, and groundwater investigations, and execution of munitions response projects.
  • Manage client expectations and maintain routine communication with clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in business development and pursue new environmental opportunities.
  • Travel to project sites is required.

Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: Ability to professionally interact with managers, coworkers, field operations staff, technical staff, and subcontractors. Capable of developing and writing project work plans, health and safety plans, etc. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Self-motivated, able to function as part of a team, able to think critically. An individual with strong mechanical abilities is preferable. Must be a U.S. citizen.

Military Installation Access and Security Clearance: This position requires access to military installations. Must be able to qualify for and obtain a base access pass and currently hold or be able to obtain a security clearance.

Education and Experience: Ten (10) or more years' experience. Bachelor's degree in geology (preferred), environmental, or geotechnical engineering, or related field, from an accredited college or university required. Master's degree in geology or hydrogeology preferred.

Certifications: Professional or Registered Geologist (PG or RG) required. OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification with current 8-Hour Annual Refresher preferred.

  • Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, or walking.
  • Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
  • Ability to drive standard 4-wheel drive trucks and tow small to medium sized trailers.
  • Must be able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to hazards typically encountered at environmental remediation sites, and strong mechanical inclination is preferred.
