Director, Product Engineering

Milacron is looking for a Director, Product Engineering to join our team in Batavia, OH. As the Director, Product Engineering, you will be responsible for managing the Injection product engineering team, bringing with you essential NPD and R&D experience and skills. Your responsibilities will include executing traditional managerial duties, along with leveraging your Product Lifecycle Management expertise to facilitate product releases, and ensuring the team operates effectively and efficiently.

Relocation assistance may be available to those that reside outside of the Greater Cincinnati/Tri-State area.

Work You'll Do:

  1. Execute company visions while tracking daily deliverables to meet cost, quality, and schedule expectations.
  2. Ensure commitments are fulfilled and effectively delegate project work.
  3. Manage costs related to headcount, travel, and materials; forecast capacity needs and oversee associated resources.
  4. Identify and develop business cases for capital projects to enhance operations.
  5. Ensure engineering outputs comply with company, industry, and regulatory standards while removing obstacles to optimize engineering efficiency.
  6. Develop and implement departmental policies, standards, and KPIs; provide machine operation/safety guidance.
  7. Collaborate with Sales team for estimates and feasibility analyses, and work with marketing/product managers to integrate new features into existing products.
  8. Create and maintain software tools to improve departmental efficiency and productivity.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree with an Engineering focus, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
  2. 10+ years of progressive engineering experience with similar products or technologies, particularly within new product development (NPD) and research & development (R&D)
  3. Strong aptitude for electrical/electronics, controls, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
  4. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of plastic processing equipment and processes highly preferred
  2. Experience with Windchill PLM software
