SUMMARY OF DUTIES

The Domestic Violence Specialist II is responsible for providing direct services to clients who are involved in domestic/family violence working with a high-risk population due to the criminal nature of domestic violence.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in social work or human services preferred. A bachelor's degree in another discipline may be substituted with appropriate experience in dealing with domestic violence or a related field.

EXPERIENCE
  • Two years plus. One-year experience in domestic violence or related field preferred. Knowledge and experience in the area of building healthy relationships. Excellent assertive communication skills. Ability to diffuse potentially hostile clients. Basic skills and experience in facilitating groups. Awareness of cultural and gender bias/issues. Requires contact with offenders and/or an aggressive (high risk) population.
