Position: Ultrasound Tech

Location: Kailua Kona, HI

Pay: $50.75/hour + receive a $750 sign-on bonus after working 30 days!

Experience: Related experience desired

Education:

  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program is required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is desirable
  • Active certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)

Type: Full-time; Contract

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking an Ultrasound Tech to join a growing and dynamic team!


Job Description:

  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations
  • Utilize cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures to anatomical and pathological information
  • Use independent judgment to differentiate between normal and pathological findings during exams
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize information, and communicate findings to the appropriate physician
  • Coordinate work schedule with the Departmental Director to ensure workload coverage
  • Ensure the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients in care
  • Assist with daily operations and maintenance of the sonographic laboratory and equipment
  • Maintain a daily log of patients and complete exam billing forms
  • Establish and maintain ethical working relationships and rapport with hospitals, referral, or commercial agencies
  • Provide in-service education on sonographic procedures as requested by the healthcare team


Position Requirements:

  • Effectively operate sonographic equipment
  • Use independent judgment to acquire the optimum diagnostic sonographic information in each examination performed
  • Ability to evaluate, synthesize, and communicate diagnostic information to the attending physician
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communication with the public and healthcare team
  • Work efficiently and cope with emergencies
