Conflicts Staff Attorney - New Business (Fully Remote - Weekend Support) Recruiting Location:US-IL-Chicago | US-MA-Boston | US-TX-Dallas | US-DC-Washington D.C. | US-TX-Houston | US-CA-Los Angeles | US-FL-Miami | US-NY-New York | US-CA-San FranciscoDepartment: AccountingSummary The Conflicts Staff Attorney (CSA) will be responsible for assisting with the review, identification, and resolution of potential conflicts issues Firmwide, including all new business and client matters. The fully remote position will provide coverage primarily over the Weekends.This position will report to the Conflicts New Business Senior Managers and will work closely with the Director of Conflicts / Operations, Conflicts and New Business, the Office of General Counsel and Firm partners.The weekly hours for this role will vary based on office location and will include a schedule that, at minimum, covers the below days and times:Friday: 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM CSTSaturday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM CSTSunday: 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM CSTDuties and Responsibilities Perform initial review of conflicts requests and work with secretaries and submitters to obtain clear and precise information.Compile conflicts reports that incorporate research and analysis from the firm's internal conflicts database and external corporate research tools.Review and analyze conflicts reports for all new business, and changes in current matters that arise, to identify potential conflicts of interest.Prepare a Conflicts Summary for Firm lawyers outlining conflicts results.Work closely with Firm lawyers, Director of Conflicts/Operations, and NB CSA Senior Managers to obtain waivers and answer other conflicts inquiries as required.Perform analysis and reviews of new business forms and provide assistance with the new business intake process as needed.Compile information for client due diligence reports for new clients, draft engagement letters and waivers, and assist with screens as needed.Participate in weekly meetings of the Conflicts Staff Attorneys (New Business and Lateral).Study and stay current with laws and rules pertaining to conflicts of interest with respect to each jurisdiction in which the Firm maintains offices.Maintain records for tracking and timely completion of all conflicts review projects undertaken.Perform various special projects and duties as assigned.California, New York, and Washington DC Applicants: Salaries may vary by location. In California, New York, and Washington DC, the estimated target salary range of this role is $150,000 - $170,000, in addition to bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefit package.
