JOB DESCRIPTION: The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within the surgical service unit and for the day-to-day management and supervision of the related clinical activities within the area on the Nurse's tour of duty. The Nurse is also responsible for supervising and responsibly directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing and ancillary personnel utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgement.Position QualificationsMUST SCRUB AND CIRCULATE; American Heart Association BLS-HCP, ACLS required.Minimum Education Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred.Two (2) years Surgery experience in circulating or combination of scrub and circulating.Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Hawaii.Knowledge of standards related to the particular nursing practice, anatomy, physiology, the disease process, pharmacology, IV therapy, aseptic techniques and basic EKG.Ability to communicate with patients/families, peers and physicians.Ability to handle multiple priorities.Sterile technique.
