@Orchard LLC is providing resources for a newly awarded Federal Contract in support of the US Marine Corps. The core profile is that of Resource Efficiency and Energy Analyst, tasked with helping the government to achieve robust energy management programs, initiatives, and projects to meet energy laws, regulations, policies, directives, and goals.

The role includes helping in the following areas: Energy support services including assistance with Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) projects, Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program (ERCIP) projects, Utility Energy Services Contract (UESC) projects, Enhanced Use Lease (EUL) projects, Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) projects, Renewable Energy projects and other energy projects.

As a Resource Efficiency and energy Analyst, you will support demand reduction for energy and water through education, conservation, and efficiency initiatives and projects that optimize the use of utility resources, including natural gas, electricity, solar, geothermal, water, wastewater, wind, and other energy/utilities. You will also assist with energy and water planning, including the development of Installation Energy and Water Plans (IEWPs). In support of these requirements, you will provide project management, engineering, technical knowledge, and analysis of energy management applications, databases, and systems, as well as high-level functional support for evaluation and implementation advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and energy resilience projects.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support on energy and water efficiency, renewable energy, energy security, energy resiliency, and utilities/infrastructure projects.
  • Review project packages for accuracy and completeness including life cycle cost analysis.
  • Conduct design reviews.
  • Review and analyze energy, water, and other utility data.
  • Support energy reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate and review report findings/results/status as required.
  • Develop decarbonization and electrification solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with power generation and transportation.
  • Support energy project implementation through ESPC, UESC, and ERCIP projects, and other funded energy projects
Your background will include.
  • One of the following combinations of education and experience:
    • A four-year engineering degree (preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering) and/or a registered Professional Engineer registration with a minimum of 5 years of experience in energy management.
    • An Environmental Science, business, or related degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience in energy management.
    • A two-year technical degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management.
    • No degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience in energy management.
  • Background in energy management and experience with onsite renewable energy generation, energy storage, and microgrid projects as well as alternative financing contract vehicles.
  • Experience supporting the development and implementation of energy projects.
  • Knowledge of Department of Defense energy management requirements is a plus.
  • Current Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or ability to obtain CEM certification within 12 months.
