Position Summary:
The Regional Specialist is responsible for maintaining existing client relationships. This position is the main point of contact for the company's clients, retaining and building strong business relationships. This position works closely with the Regional Manager (RM) to develop a successful team approach, to work effectively and efficiently with inbound marketing strategies and sales, to ensure that deals are completed quickly, and to be the inside point of contact for the customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify revenue opportunities within customers' communities through communications, programs, and other activities as needed.
  • Nurture a strong business relationship with customers to ensure their needs are met and to ensure growth through the existing client base.
  • Assess the viability of connections to forecast potential results and return on time investment.
  • Prospect, qualify, and generate sales within the company's established sales territory; this includes cold calling appropriate customers.
  • Ensure suspect identification, planning, account qualification and needs analysis is at prospect levels.
  • Telephone prospects to identify appropriate contacts and to qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline.
  • Responds to requests from customers for information, updates customer records, give online presentations, and enter product quotes into CRM.
  • Interact with customers to provide after sales support on a variety of issues including: product knowledge in all product lines, product lead times, freight quoting, and additional questions.
  • Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments with customer base and products.
  • Follow order entry process and provide order management from order receipt through order shipping.
  • Coordinate cross organizational communication in a team setting.
  • Follow up with RAM to make sure action item deadlines are completed.
  • Assist the sales team with any support work such as: calling customers monthly to check their needs for the rolling forecast, proactively following up in writing on smaller quotes (during peak season from March to August).
  • Assist RAM with writing up action items for, as well as, the organization and logistics of sales trips and shows.
  • Handle market surveys by phone, analyses the answers, and report conclusion and/or recommendations

Supervisory Responsibilities:
No formal supervisory role.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • This position requires a bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university; or four to five years related experience and/or training.
  • Bilingual a plus but not required.
  • Proficiency working in a Windows Office environment is required (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Must be a quick thinker and make recommendations or propose a solution to a customer's problem.
  • Experience in dealing with freight and logistics a plus.
  • Experience with database entry and maintenance is preferred but not required.

Physical/Mental Demands:
This position is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and scanners. This position also requires wearing a headset most of the time.
