Summary

On-Call Simulator Operator/Maintainer will provide support as needed to fulfill scheduled Training Operations as well as meet Maintenance Operational Availability for the USMC. Operator Maintainer will be able to successfully execute scheduled USMC training events held at the Combat Convoy Simulator (CCS) and other simulators as applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs all start-up / shutdown procedures pertaining to the Simulator in both training and non-training environments.
  • Interface with Military Customer and adjust training scenarios as needed to meet training needs.
  • Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices.
  • Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and repairing equipment to its normal operation.
  • Applies skill in restoring equipment operation and evaluating system performance.
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair actions on various training systems and components.
  • Complete maintenance records, logbooks, and inventories.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, supplemented by appropriate trade school training
  • 3(+) years experience in the field of electronics, electronic security systems, electricity or similar activity, sufficient to provide a broad technical knowledge of electronics equipment.
  • Thorough understanding of USMC standards used in the performance of maintenance actions.
  • Technical ability to troubleshoot failures down to discreet component level by applying knowledge in electronics and logical fault diagnostic abilities.
  • Familiar with Microsoft office software operation and use.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to pass a background check.
  • Valid Drivers license.
  • Must be a disciplined worker capable of meeting short suspense.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of two year or four year electronic technician resident course at an accredited technical school or university or equivalent military education and experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of Alaska Native cultures

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to talk, including the ability to pass on information via the telephone, and verbally communicate with clients, staff and other employees, hear and see in order to perform his or her duties in a safe manner, including occasionally driving.The ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk, bend, push, pull and stand is needed to perform all requirements of this position. Typically will have full dexterity of limbs to feel, reach, sit, kneel, stand, crawl or climb on small stepladders not to exceed 10 feet.

The work environment can vary from office/warehouse environment to field work outdoors depending on the mission and support required. Field work outdoors will be conducted under various weather conditions.
