STUDENT WORKER JOB DESCRIPTION

I. Position Information

Title: Student Worker Office of Student Success

Division: Office of Student Success

Department: Advising

Non-Exempt

Part time

II. Position Summary

The candidate will provide programmatic design and support for all functions of the Office of Student Success (advising, student success, careers) and administrative support. The candidate is expected to consider all information, written or verbal, as sensitive and confidential.

III. Learning Outcomes

This position is intended to contribute to the learning and professional development of the student serving in this role. As a result of serving in this role, the student worker will have achieved the following outcomes:

a. Identify and describe the impact of co-curricular engagement on overall student success

b. Plan and execute events and workshops, from the design phase through implementation and assessment

c. Develop and exercise the ability to work across teams and collaborate with different functional areas

d. Demonstrate administrative and organizational skills through the use of Microsoft365, Google applications, copying, filing, etc.

e. Develop and employ time management capabilities through balancing life between school, work, and social obligations.

IV. Effectiveness Strategies

The Office of Student Success employs the following strategies to assess outcomes:

a. Student worker and supervisor hold weekly check-in meetings

b. End of semester Personal Impact Review

Direct Report to: Assistant Director of Advising

VI. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Programming

a. Create and manage OSS calendar of events which will include workshops, campus & OSS events, and social media campaigns

b. Assist in the design and implementation of OSS programming including workshops and events

c. Market and advertise OSS related events and programs via social media platforms

Operations

d. Greet and direct office guests to the proper individuals

e. Provide administrative support (copying, filing, scanning, etc.)

f. Complete other administrative duties or special projects as assigned

VIII. Education and Experience

Minimum

Current and full-time student status with Chaminade University

Preferred

Student should maintain a current GPA of at least (2.5)

IX. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

* Organized with meticulous attention to detail.

* Ability to prioritize work and resources.

* Ability to meet deadlines.

* Attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness and quality.

* High integrity and ethical standards.

X. Physical Requirements

Duties involve light work in an office and community setting and requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, climbing stairs, and walking inclines. Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk the campus with ease, and have excellent motor skills. Must have finger dexterity. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so that others will understand.

XI. Other Requirements:

* This is a Part-time Non-Exempt Student Worker position. The work week will consist of 10-15 hours, 18 hours maximum from Monday through Friday with holidays being the exception. Depending on the project cycles and workflow demands of the department, additional hours or workday schedule changes may be occasionally required. Must be willing and able to work occasional nights and weekends and a varying schedule.

* Observes all safety and health regulations and works in accordance with safe work procedures and policies of the University. Reports unsafe acts/conditions and injuries in a timely and proper manner.
