Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing various repair and maintenance tasks across our premises, ensuring safety standards are upheld and operational efficiency is maintained. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly. The candidate will also be expected to provide general HVAC, electrical and preventative maintenance for University facilities.

Primary Responsibilities

* Maintain all HVAC, electrical/mechanical equipment throughout University buildings; implement a program of preventive maintenance and repair to avoid breakdown and shutdown of utilities and facilities; assist with repairs of swimming pool physical facilities; diagnose problems, then replace, repair or adjust affected parts; consult with supervisor concerning schedules, maintenance and repairs; keep a record of all work performed.

* Ensure that workers are properly trained while working with machinery and hazardous materials; instruct co-workers and crew in safety rules; participate in the Energy Management Conservation Program.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Approximate starting hourly rate: $24.00 - $27.00. The wage offered could be above or below range based on education and experience as it relates to the job description.

Subject to outdoor weather, gasoline-powered engines, fumes, caustic chemicals, airborne particles with exposure to high, precarious workplaces. Required to stand, have finger dexterity, stoop, kneel, and move or lift up to 50 pounds.
