Job Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating production, preparation, transportation (if applicable), sanitation and inventory control to deliver accurate, quality service to our customers. They manage the budget for operations to achieve financial goals, ensure training is effectively administered, compliance with USDA/FDA, and compliance with HACCP plans and regulations. Ensures safety awareness and prevention measures are followed within the facility continuously to prevent accidents.
Essential Responsibilities
- Supervises and manages the Kona team
- Ensure safe practices are followed while loading and unloading totes & merchandise.
- Comply with FDA and USDA inspection and verification procedures.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and HACCP requirement within the facility.
- Ensure efficient dish room operation and that porters sanitize equipment in the facility and maintain effective sanitizing processes.
- Ensure our flights are packed correctly, quality standards are followed, and the product delivery is in accordance with customer requirements.
- Manage production inventory in the facility to ensure purchasing orders product where no shortages occur.
- Ensure all equipment is adequately maintained and in good working condition.
- Manage departmental costs to ensure attainment of monthly financial budget.
- Ensure HACCP procedures are followed, and employees are trained.
- Ensure safety awareness and training is implemented in all related departments.
- Develop teams to improve work performance and maximize potential through succession planning, KPI achievement, coaching, ongoing training, and mentoring.
- Monitors unit performance and monitors customer quality service standards, specifications and equipment, policies and facility health and sanitation standards, billing accuracy, and product/equipment inventories are maintained at the highest level by the operating unit.
- A team builder with the ability to lead and motivate diverse management and hourly staff and build a positive employee relations culture and work environment.

- On call 24 hours/7 days a week to respond to crisis situations to provide guidance on delays, flight cancellations, and other irregularities.
- Investigate and complete incidents/accidents documentation and enforcement of safety processes and legal requirements for all processes.
- Assist as directed on ad hoc projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position may have supervisory responsibilities.
Experience/Education
- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Manufacturing experience and/or Food Processing industry a plus
- A minimum of 4-5 years broad-based Operations Management
- Working knowledge of HACCP, USDA, and FDA compliance
- Candidate bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
- Financial management and Leadership skills
- Effective employee relations skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically in Excel
