TKG builds on trusted open source and community projects and delivers an engineered and supported Kubernetes platform for end users and partners.This opportunity supports delivering on VMware's highest priorities and supporting our customers with a platform to support their developers and modern applications.**What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?**You will be a part of the Tanzu Kubernetes Grid leadership team, helping ensure and implement security practices into VMware's Kubernetes distribution. As a Team Lead in the program, you will work both on the downstream product and contribute to the upstream Kubernetes project.**Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?**+ You have become familiar with the product's technical domain and the security challenges facing TKG development teams & Kubernetes operators.+ You are using your knowledge of our technical domain to advise and influence cross-team collaborations+ You enable TKG to quickly route escalations resulting from vulnerability to the right feature team for triage and remediation.+ You champion a secure development process, working with engineering & product leadership to create processes & tooling that enable TKG teams to create a product which is secure by default**What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?**+ Partner with product management teams to help prioritize work internally and across across organizational boundaries+ Validate and ensure resolution to customer vulnerability scans and security incidents in TKG+ Ensure vulnerability scans are regularly run against every TKG component, documenting assessed impact to product+ Define process and policies for responding to customer escalations with respect to vulnerabilities and embargoed CVEs+ Author customer facing security focussed documentation, such as security whitepapers, CIS benchmark scan results analysis, knowledge base (kB) articles+ Support development teams in supporting compliance with FIPS, CIS Benchmarks and regulations**What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?**The hiring manager for this role is Jeremy Morony, Engineering Manager for the TKG Security Operations team. Jeremy is a technical leader with 20 years of programming, facilitation, coaching, and mentoring experience at both startups and larger companies.
